Rapid audit questions
Can you slide without looking at the keyboard? Can you jump while strafing left? Can you open the menu without accidentally jumping? If any answer is no, fix binds before another movement session. Re-audit after every OS update or controller swap. Tiny input regressions create fake “I got worse overnight” stories.
Closing note
Keep one insight from « Controls Cheatsheet » beside your next demo launch, then verify it on concrete before chasing gold on 21 August 2026 prep nights.
Printable session checklist
Before launch: confirm jump, slide, climb interact, pause, and look sensitivity. After first fall: reaffirm slide is easy to hit under panic. After first multiplayer: confirm you did not rebound keys while chatting. Keep this cheatsheet beside Controls and Movement & Momentum. When Demo2 drops new contextual actions, add a dated line rather than overwriting old binds blindly. Controller users should note dead zones; keyboard users should note key travel fatigue on long gold nights. A clean bind set is a competitive advantage disguised as comfort.
Sensitivity philosophy
Choose a sensitivity you can micro-adjust mid-slide without over-flicking into the abyss. Change sensitivity only between sessions, never between attempts in a PB push. Log changes next to medals on the checklist tool.
Launch carry-over
Full release may add inputs. Your demo muscle memory for jump, slide, and climb should remain the spine on 21 August 2026. Wishlist the game, keep this sheet, and re-verify after day-one patches.
Quick bind audit every Sunday
Spend two minutes pressing jump, slide, and climb with eyes closed. If any finger hesitates, fix the bind before a gold block. Muscle memory audits prevent mysterious “I got worse” weeks that were really awkward reaches.
Deepening notes for controls-cheatsheet
Use this page as an active worksheet, not a poster. After reading, launch the VHOLUME Demo, test one idea for five minutes, and write a six-word result in your notes. If the idea fails, it becomes tomorrow’s opener; if it works, promote it into your medal or route checklist. Demo2’s four-main-map promise means your worksheet should grow when Steam updates land. Keep 21 August 2026 visible so practice stays purposeful. Cross-link sideways to guides and tools instead of rereading the same paragraph. Unique focus for this article: apply its primary claim on concrete before opening another wiki tab. That habit compounds better than binge reading on launch eve. Keep this page bookmarked beside your Steam client so advice stays one alt-tab away during Demo2 sessions.
