VHOLUME Hub Racetrack Guide

Almost every VHOLUME story begins in the hub circuit—the concrete loop under grey skies that press writers compare to Titanfall 2’s Gauntlet and Mirror’s Edge ribbons. You run forward, finish, get a time, and immediately feel the gold medal sitting impossibly far away. This page turns that first obsession into a structured plan.

What the hub teaches

The hub is a literacy machine. It forces continuous forward commitment, punishes panic stops above the abyss, and rewards slides that preserve speed into jumps. Writers who spent a week here describe a huge gap between first bronze and gold—that gap is intentional. Use Movement & Momentum as theory, this page as map-specific practice.

First sessions (no gold yet)

  1. Complete three full laps without quitting after a fall.
  2. Note two landmarks: a tower or neon cue for mid-route orientation, and the finish geometry.
  3. Practice recovering after a missed jump instead of resetting instantly.
  4. Earn a calm bronze before watching leaderboard ghosts.

Only then open Gold Medals and the medal checklist.

Reading the ribbon vs the city

The timed racetrack is the intended line, but the hub city spills outward. Balconies, boost pads, and the central tower invite freer movement. Early exploration helps unlock roof shortcuts and access toward other maps such as Conapts. Do not confuse sightseeing with medal attempts—separate explore blocks from timed blocks in your session notes.

Line building for bronze → silver → gold

  • Bronze: survive the ribbon with consistent slides and clean landings.
  • Silver: remove one hesitation per sector; chain climb recoveries.
  • Gold: compress sightlines, commit earlier to jumps, and study ghosts for one sector at a time.

Community Racetrack videos in the mid-20-second range show how compressed gold can become, but your first goal is a repeatable personal best, not copying a former world record frame-for-frame.

Ghosts and multiplayer on the hub

Load ghosts after you can finish calmly. Watch foot placement on slides, not only jump arcs. Live multiplayer is better once you stop bumping yourself off rhythm—see Multiplayer & Ghosts.

Demo2 and launch prep

Demo2 refreshed maps and multiplayer polish. Re-verify landmarks after updating. Skills from this hub transfer to every later district and to the 21 August 2026 full release. Keep wishlist pressure on Steam, but keep practicing the loop—the verbs will not change overnight.

Session template (45 minutes)

Warm-up two laps → one explore block → six timed attempts with notes → one ghost study → cool-down scenic climb. That template beats two hours of tilted resets.

Closing for hub runners

The Racetrack is where VHOLUME either clicks or frustrates. Treat bronze as graduation, silver as language fluency, and gold as poetry—not as a gate that must open tonight.

Micro-drills unique to the hub abyss

Practise recovering toward the ribbon after a near-fall instead of accepting the void as an instant reset teacher. Count silent beats between slide and jump on your best sector until the rhythm is boring. When gold still feels impossible, compare your bronze line to a mid-pack ghost rather than a sub-25 showcase. Update Demo2, then re-verify neon landmarks before blaming yourself for lost geometry. Carry hub confidence into newer maps without assuming identical jump lengths.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is the hub the same as Racetrack?

Players and videos often use both names for the opening timed circuit. This guide covers that primary loop and its surrounding city.

Why is gold so much faster than bronze?

The gap teaches momentum and shortcuts. Study one sector at a time instead of restarting entire runs forever.

Should I explore or race first?

Earn one calm bronze, then explore for unlocks, then return to timed blocks with fresh lines.

Do WR videos help beginners?

Watch them for sector ideas after bronze. Copying a sub-25 run before literacy usually creates bad habits.
